Nemy Abraham and Christian Litterio lead the graduates onto the field.
Our BHS graduates' journeys have only just begun.
Graduates receiving scholarships stand for recognition.
On June 8 the Graduating Class of 2023 met together as BHS students for one last time, walking through a line of teachers, administrators, and school board members before taking their seats on the field for their graduation ceremony. Years of childhood memories came rushing forward, and quite a few graduating seniors and staff shed tears of joy.
The Senior Choir members joined in song a final time to entertain the crowd by performing "Somewhere Only We Know" by Ed Lojeski. The High School and Middle School Band members played the traditional pieces "Pomp and Circumstance" and "Fanfare and Recessional" by Edward Elgar.
The three student speakers were Valedictorian Connor Kariotis, Student Government Vice President and Master of Ceremonies Andi Householder, and At Large Speaker Dakota Baughman. With assistance from Mr. Rossi and Mr. Pham, Dr. Boylan distributed diplomas and shook hands. In a long standing tradition, the new graduates threw their caps in celebration at the conclusion of the event. Click on this link to view all of the photos.
Students are all smiles at the thought of graduating from BHS.
The stadium is packed with family and friends.
Mr. Waltenbaugh livestreams the event & Ms. Shank gets ready to take portraits.
ALMA MATER
With the vision clear in mind
Of our Burrell High
We shall rise with strength and honor
Reaching to the sky.
We shall hail thee Alma mater
Now and Evermore,
With the mem'ries of thy greatness
Going on before.
