BHS Sophomore performs at FBLA State Conference
By Shane Napier
Sophomore Elliana Koulouris has had no shortage of incredible moments over the past year, but her latest came at the FBLA State Leadership Conference, where she performed the national anthem in front of what she describes as "probably the most people I've ever sang in front of live, which was crazy."
According to Koulouris, sending in a video audition to perform was initially Mrs. Kariotis's idea, who had previously been impressed by Elliana singing the national anthem at her kids' soccer games. Koulouris said, "I never really thought I would get selected." But lo and behold, she did.
"I really couldn't believe it because there were surely many others from the whole state that submitted a video audition as well, but we were both really excited for the opportunity and it's definitely surreal to be thinking about how many people I will be singing in front of!" said Koulouris of her reaction to getting selected.
Koulouris's performance was unsurprisingly incredible. After the event, she commented, "I was super nervous but had a great time, and everyone from Burrell that was there supported me and cheered me on, which was really nice."
Elliana's EP White Dirty Shoes is currently available on streaming platforms.
