Burrell making connections with the community
By Hailey Schoepf
On Thursday, April 13th, Huston Middle School hosted a community night event where people of Lower Burrell could come to hang out, eat, have campfires, explore STEM activities, and walk around to see each business. The following businesses were there in hopes to get more clients and customers: Peoples Library, A Step Above Dance Academy, Sevic Landscape & Supply, J.V. Manufacturing Co., Bennett's Beauty Bar, Salon Fresco, Seita Jewelers, Leap Fitness Center, and so many more. It was a fun night for all.
Seniors Riley Sterlitz and Addy Landowski went to the event as volunteers for Interact to help with STEM activities. They said it was an overall fun time and even got to go around to see the businesses. Sterlitz says, “I got to participate in a pushup contest with Leap Fitness Center. I did 100 pushups and won a free T-shirt.” Landowski says she stopped at the Bennett's Beauty Bar stand and they were putting tinsel and colored hairspray in people's hair. She says, “I got a couple pieces of tinsel on one side of my hair and some colored hairspray on the other side.”
