Burrell Autism Awareness Spirit Week
By: Brooke Clark
This Autism Awareness Spirit Week brought joy, creativity, and excitement to both students and teachers here at Burrell High School. Monday was a comfy day staying in your PJs all morning and afternoon long. Tuesday was a twin here, twin there, twins everywhere. Friends, siblings, boyfriends, and girlfriends matched from head to toe in matching outfits and accessories. Wednesday was wearing red, white, and blue. Thursday, wear your favorite sports jersey or your own jersey. Friday was Generational Day: Freshmen - toddlers, Sophomores - preteens, Juniors - middle aged, Seniors - senior citizens and teachers/staff - teens.
According to Freshman Lindsay Erb, her favorite Spirit Day of the week was red, white and blue day. On this day she wore blue leggings and a red and white top and shoes. She really liked this day because she could express her true American pride. Senior Gabe Ziccarelli's favorite Spirit Week theme was twin day. Twin day was his favorite theme of the week because, as he said, “I always wanted a twin.”
