2022 Football Season Recap
For the 2022-2023 school year, Burrell Cheer made changes left and right for the football season, which they hope to continue into the winter sports season as well. With the team led by their Senior Captains Karly Wass and Jenna Mitnick, the squad is doing many different things from previous years, including more stunts, dances, and even a competition they will be attending in December. Unlike last year, a year with no seniors, this year we are welcomed with 6! They consist of Hannah Brooks, Jenna Mitnick, Autumn Miller, Cara Schantz, Hanna Thomas, and Karly Wass. With support from the Student Section, the band, and of course the fans, the cheerleaders were really pumped to cheer this fall season. They are hoping to carry that spirit into the winter where they will cheer for basketball and wrestling. Come support not only the Bucs, but also the cheerleaders this winter in the gym.
Mini Cheer Camp
Elementary kids joined our varsity cheer team in cheering on our very own Burrell Bucs for the Yough vs. Burrell game on September 23. Varsity cheerleaders brought kids up to the high school from grades kindergarten to fifth grade, teaching them several cheers and a halftime dance routine! Combined, there were a total of 84 mini cheerleaders on the sidelines accompanied by the varsity girls. On the same night, the community wore red in support of senior football player Nijere Floyd in his fight against sickle cell. To show their support, varsity cheerleaders wore their sickle cell shirts and red bows! The minis were thrilled to have been there and we can’t wait to have them back for basketball season!
The young cheerleaders are ready to follow along with the high school girls.

Practice like you've never won.
Perform like you've never lost.
