BHS Welcomes "Fresh-Squeezed" Students
On Tuesday, August 23, Burrell High School started off another great year with its annual freshman orientation. Guided by Student Government members, the freshmen learned the locations of their personal classes, main rooms and hallways, and other important details about the high school.
When asked if orientation was helpful, Freshman Ian Shaw said, “Yes, to find your way around and where your classes are.” Most freshmen are hoping to get good grades this year, while others want to make sports teams, join clubs, and create new friendships. The orientation left attendees feeling excited and prepared for the beginning of their high school careers. Freshman Jaden Floyd-Quigley is most excited about soccer and track, ready to dominate in sports with more opportunities available to him. Similarly, Freshman Cam Baker is most excited about joining the wrestling team in a quest for another WPIAL title.
The freshmen are excited for their high school experience to start and cannot wait for another great year! Freshman orientation is helpful for all freshmen who want to be successful and organized, and should continue for classes to come.
Student government members Senior Maddie Gerthoffer, Sophomore Jules Fisher, Sophomore Anna Clark, and Senior Bella Seidel volunteer to help at the event.
