Blown Up Faces
Groups of students in Mrs. Abel and Mrs. Stell's Geometry classes were given envelopes that contained 88 1x1 inch squares of a teacher's school photos. Their task was to recreate the portraits on a much larger scale and to write a personalized jingle or blurb about their assigned teacher as well. The groups strategized how to divide the work and also had to communicate colors, techniques, flexibility of adequate use of AR time, etc. to make the final project a successful outcome. Each 1x1 square had to be dilated (enlarged) so that it was four times the size. This required the use of accurate measurements so it all pieced together at the end. Mrs. Abel and Mrs. Stell turned students' math artwork into a competition as well. See below for the results.
