Burrell High School Seniors are prepared to move on to college
The Burrell Class of 2023 is excited to move on to the real world this fall and start their college studies. These students will leave their friends and family and leave for the schools of their choice and begin to study their intended majors. A large majority of the students have already picked their college but some are still undecided. Burrell Senior Taylor Barr said, “I am really excited to go to college, I'm still waiting to hear back from UCF but I have a few options already.” When asked why she is excited for college, she said, “I am just excited for the experience, I can not wait to go to new places and meet new people.” Some students such as Taylor are using college as an opportunity to travel to new places but a majority of students are choosing to stay close to home.
A very popular place to go this year seems to be Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. A large majority of seniors in Burrell High School are already committed to Slippery Rock University, one of them being Burrell’s quarterback, Chase Fenner. Fenner was accepted into Slippery Rock University's Honors College. Fenner said, “My major is going to be exercise science and after graduating, I would like to work and become a chiropractor. I'm ready for the independence that college provides and the ability to start my own life to achieve my goals.”
With the addition of Seniors attending in-state colleges, there are also the additional few attending out of state. Senior Cassidy Novak will be traveling out of state and attending Kent State University. Novak commented, “I'm going to Kent to study Architecture. I am so excited to meet new friends and continue my academic career there.” All in all, Burrell’s class of 2023 is a highly accomplished group of students that plan to achieve many things in life. The Burrell class of 2023 has no limits to their capabilities.
