Bringing in Spring Sports and St. Patty's Day with a lot of pep
The 2023 Spring pep rally was full of action and fun, including recognition of the Spring Sports, a class competition game of Hungry, Hungry Hippos, and Teachers vs Seniors Basketball game.
Hungry, Hungry Hippos
The Hungry, Hungry Hippos game had 4 teams including one for each class. The Freshman team consisted of Cam Baker,Jake Stewart, Emma Hughes and Laney Kaczor. The Sophomores included Luke Postupack, Billy Kowalkowski, Miley Kariotis and Lily Householder. The Juniors had Johnny Lukac,Chantz Watkins, Teagan Montgomery and Ally Smola. And, last but not least, the Seniors had Bella Seidel, Ali Hughes, Noelle Bigenho and Hanna Thomas. There was one player on the scooter and one controlling the scooter and 2 players putting balloons in the bag. The player on the scooter had to get the most balloons to put in the bag. The game was very hard fought, aggressive and action packed. Players were running around pushing other teams trying to steal balloons from other teams but in the end Juniors won the game but followed closely by the Freshmen. Many spectators commented on how fun the game was to watch. “The Hungry Hungry Hippo game was full of fun, ” said Freshman Weston Baronie, and Max Ford also a Freshman, agreed.
Seniors vs. Teachers B-Ball Game
The basketball game was also very fun but not a lot of action was seen from the Senior team. In fact, Senior Chase Fenner commented on their play saying, "We sucked." The teams consisted of the Seniors Ian Mccarrell, Chase Fenner, Niko Ferra, Jaxon Logut and Gabe Ziccarell and Head Coach Zack McNight. The teachers were Mr.Pham, Mr.Leghart, Mr.Coukart, Mr.Diehl, Mr.Connolly and Mrs.Goodiski. Before the game while players were getting called out Chase Fenner walked out with a sign to ask Senior Morgan Fenoglietto to prom. After that moment, students were ecstatic and were ready to start the game. To start off the game Mccarrell shot a brick after that moment Mr. Diehl went off making bucket after bucket and rebound after rebound. Freshman Nick Blackwell even commented on Mr. Diehl's performance, “Mr. Diehl looked like Michael Jordan.”
By halftime, Teachers were winning by 12 points. When the 2nd period started up the same thing happened. Mr. Diehl couldn't be stopped and Mr. Coukart had back to back corner 3’s, and the Seniors couldn't stop the Teachers with the Teachers taking the W by 15 points.
