¡Español Críticas de Snacks!
In January, Mr. Leghart and Mrs. Federer’s 9th grade Spanish classes were assigned a project, Criticas de Snacks, where the freshman had to create their own snack using the vocabulary and phrases taught in class. Students had to come up with their own design for the snack, creating their own name and packaging. Once complete, students hung the picture designs of their snacks all around the library. After looking around at all the snacks, the students had to record their opinions on five of the snacks around the library using Flipgrid. Freshman Jordon Kemp says, “This project made me realize how many different words you can use to describe snacks in Spanish.” The students used their current knowledge of Spanish snacks to describe others’ snacks in many different ways. Spanish teacher Senor Leghart states, "We are always trying to find ways to get the students talking more in Spanish. Sometimes a change of venue like the library can be very helpful in getting them to open up." The library was a good change of scenery for the freshman Spanish classes and not being in the classroom helped focus. Freshman Camryn Brun states “It was a very creative way to express my knowledge on Spanish snacks.” The project assisted the Freshman class on learning how to exhibit their knowledge on the Spanish language. The students had a lot of fun creating and reviewing their own Spanish snacks. As stated by Senora Federer, “¡Qué deliciosos los snacks!”
