From April 16 to April 19, thirty FBLA members will compete in the state competition in Hershey, PA. Mrs. Kariotis commented on the event, saying, "Mr. Kariotis and I are very excited to take this group to the competition, and we anticipate coming home with some state winners for sure." She also said that there is "a nice variety of ways for students to compete and challenge their abilities."
Not only did FBLA have great success at Regionals, but five teams have advanced to the Top 15 in the state, the most that the club has ever had since it first began at Burrell during the 2015-2016 school year. These teams are listed below. In addition, Seniors Bella Seidel and Maddie Gerthoffer will get the chance to compete in Publication Design; the duo qualified at the Regional Level in December.
The trip to Hershey will feature much more than competitions. Students will also get to hear from guest speakers, see presentations from their competitors, and speak with colleges and universities who are attending and will have booths set up. One day of the trip will also be dedicated to Hershey Park and Chocolate World, so it "will not be all business," according to Mrs. Kariotis, who expects everyone to "be very tired by the end of the trip." Good luck to everyone involved!
