100 days down, 80 days to go (only 45 as of April 4th)
On a seemingly normal school day, the students walk into BHS to see some of their peers handing out free cookies to everyone who wanted one. February 9 was officially the 100th day of school! This was exciting for many students because it means they are over halfway done with this school year. In addition to the cookies, Mrs. Anthony hid one fake hundred dollar bill in between each period of the day around the school for students to search for, creating a playful competition among the students. Whoever found it would win a $5 Sheetz gift card. The lucky winners were Senior Ally Rigatti, Senior Ali Hughes, Freshman Vinnie Scherer, Senior Connor Kariotis, Senior Kadi Bauer, Junior Anthony Roman, and Junior Connor Anderson-Rearick. The idea started with Student Government President, Senior Ian Quinn asking, “Why don’t we celebrate the 100th day of school like we did in elementary school?” Quinn’s idea made for a very good morning for the students at Burrell High School. Senior Abby Larko said, “I was very excited because that was my breakfast for the day, and my friend gave me hers too.” The cookies and playful competition made for a very exciting school day. The 100th day of school was a success, and a pleasant early morning surprise for our students.
