Halloween Read-A-Thon

The Burrell High School students in Reading Railroads hosted a fun Halloween event for the elementary kids on October 23rd. The event took place in Burrell High School, and 280 elementary students attended. This was something fun for the kids, encouraging them that reading is fun. The Burrell middle schoolers helped out with this event as well. 

Senior Sam Stell said about the experience, "The Halloween Read-A-Thon was one of the best parts of my senior year, and I enjoyed dressing up and doing clown make-up."

Junior Sabrina Hoover also agreed that the experience was fun. "The Read-A-Thon was a lot of fun. The kids seemed to enjoy our re-enactment of the Halloween books we read to them."

Sophomore Jordon Kemp also thought that the kids really enjoyed the books, "I enjoyed handing out books for the Read-A-Thon. The kids were very excited to get a new book to read.

The Halloween Read-A-Thon is done every year and sponsored by Reading Railroad. The club also goes to the elementary schools around each holiday to read to the students.
