Choir takes on intense schedule to musically bring cheer
The choir had a busy schedule this holiday season with a total of 5 concerts around the school, community, and even in Pittsburgh.
The tour began at Carnegie Music Hall on November 5, when the choir was privileged and honor to sing with the Pittsburgh Symphony featuring the "Violins of Hope". Mrs. Williams, Choir Director, said, "It was a wonderful experience and a little stressful. It was the first time this piece [with the Violins of Hope] was performed in public. The choir to did an amazing job, and it was such a unique experience for the choir."
Next, they went on the annual Holiday Tour with the band, where they visited the Middle School and Elementary buildings of Burrell on December 14.
Their next performance was at the Hillcrest Country Club. It was their turn this year to perform at the Annual Teacher's Retirement dinner, which took place on Tuesday, December 12. The choir actually gave a "sneak peak" of their Winter Concert material with even one song they sang for the first time as a complete choir. The choir received a standing ovation at the end. Several of the retirees commented on how well they enjoyed the songs, and they thought it was a beautiful way to start their holiday season.
They ended their season tour with their Winter Concert held on December 19 in the auditorium featuring all the songs they played on their tour plus a few more favorites.

Nineteen choirs from around the county got together to make music together with a guest director, Dr. Octave, for two days and perform on the last day. This year's guest accompanist was Christopher Pardini. This year rehearsal took place on November 16 and 17 with a Friday evening performance.
