First Sectioned Girls' Wrestling match against Kiski
The girls got pumped up for their first ever meet against Kiski on December 14. Although Kiski has a girls wrestling team which has been competing with the boys for a number of years, this was Burrell's first official team. Girls have never been recognized officially as their own standalone sport, until this year. This match marked the first ever PIAA sectioned match in our section. Although the team didn't win, they thought the experience was good.
"We are pumped for this season. Even if we don't win every match we still learn a lot," said Junior Pippa Meyer.
The girls are lead by coaches, Chris Stewart and Chris & Charlie Hartkins. The girls are changing captains for each meet, but for the Kiski meet, they were Junior Pippa Meyer and Freshman Katie Koehler. We wish the girls luck as they continue with their groundbreaking season.
