Bucs' Path to The Pete
The Bucs 2024 playoffs began with an upset in the first round, as the Bucs defeated the #6 seed Seton La Salle setting up for a great playoff run. In the quarterfinals, they continued their run by beating the #3 seed and section rival Shady Side Academy in a battle. The semi-finals was going to be another challenge for the Bucs as they faced the #2 seed Mohawk. The Bucs came through once again with a great game that secured their spot in the championship at the Petersen Events Center. Although their run ultimately ended with a loss to the #1 seed Deer Lakes Lancers in the 3A Championship at The Pete. Junior Elliana Kolouris added a special touch to the championship game by singing the National Anthem.
The Burrell Bucs basketball team's season has been memorable for the community. Their remarkable playoff run has left an impression on fans and is an inspiration for younger generations of Burrell Bucs athletes.

Student Buses and School Spirit followed the Bucs
For every game, the Student Bus (Ship on the move) followed the team. As their wins started to accumulate so did the fans who wanted what came to be a cherished seat on the fan bus. The last student bus that headed to The Pete was packed with an amazing 62 students. Even the local papers started to mention the overwhelming support and rowdiness (mostly in a good way) of the Burrell Bucs Student section.
On the day of the Championship game, the Boys Bucs got a hero's send off complete with fans lining the halls, parent cheering section outside, and a police and fire department escort out of the city!
