Six flowers to get you in the mood for Spring!
With spring right around the corner, it won’t be much longer until flowers start to bloom. Now, I’m sure you’re aware of all the well-known flowers, such as tulips, roses, and daffodils. But what about some less common ones? There are so many flowers in the world that it’s easy to ignore some, but all flowers are special in their own ways. This article will share six unique flowers that you can keep an eye out for this spring and maybe even plant yourself.
The first flower is an Azalea, which is very popular when it comes to shrubs. They have trumpet-shaped petals and come in all types of shades, including pink, lavender, red, white, and salmon. You can plant these in the spring or fall, just be sure they get partial shade. It’s also important to note that these flowers, although beautiful, are toxic to your pets. This next flower may be one you’ve seen before but never heard the name of it. It is called a Magnolia. These flowers bloom anytime, from late winter to mid-spring. They bloom in trees and have white petals with a purple fade near the stems. They come in many varieties, including evergreen and deciduous. If you wish to plant this one, make sure it has plenty of space to grow.
This flower’s name can be slightly deceiving, but don’t let it fool you, because it’s still a spring flower. It is called the “Snowdrop” and is one of the first flowers to bloom during spring. They are small, white, delicate flowers that are upturned. These are extremely easy to care for and can be planted almost anywhere in your yard. But if seeing these snowdrops wasn’t enough to assure you that spring is here, make sure to look for the beautiful bluebells. These flowers only bloom when it’s officially spring. They are a lovely shade of violet blue and have six bell-shaped petals. Like the snowdrops, they have upturned tips.
If you’re looking to attract some butterflies, then I’d suggest planting the “Forget-Me-Nots.” These bloom during the late spring and early summer. They have an abundant amount of light blue petals with a yellow bud in the middle. There are five petals on each flower, and they’re known to symbolize true love and devotion. So, if you’re looking to give your loved one a gift, keep these in mind! The next flower has a very unique design. The foxglove flower is a striking plant that grows tubular pink, white, or purple flowers. On top of that, there are speckles of color inside the petals. The speckles are often white or purple. Sadly, they don’t usually bloom until your second year after planting them. But, with their striking colors and patterns, they’d be worth the wait!
I hope this article helped expand your knowledge of flowers, and maybe even gave you some ideas of what you’d like in your garden. Make sure to keep an eye out for these unique flowers, since it won’t be long before they bloom!
