Lunch the most important class of the school day
Many people say that breakfast is the most important meal, but when it comes to school students, lunch is almost just as important. It’s one of the only times where you can get a break from work and see most, if not all, your friends. It’s also important to have a good and filling lunch so you can continue working hard throughout the rest of your day. In this article, I will be sharing a few people’s opinions on the lunches, and how they like to spend their time.
After surveying some people, I learned that one of the most valued things about lunch is definitely talking with friends. When asked what the highlight of her lunch was, Freshman Kendall Nix answered, “Talking to my friends definitely. They’re the best.” Everyone else answered pretty similarly. They also all seemed to agree that lunch is a much needed break. Which I personally agree with. With so much work, it’s vital to have some time to rest and socialize. Senior Nolan Hill said, “The lunch break is nice cause for me I eat A and it’s like a good halfway point.” Many people also eat near or in the cafeteria. Freshman Madison Frayer, a choir member who also eats A, said she eats near the cafeteria. Meanwhile everyone else eats in the cafeteria at the tables. And all of the people I surveyed said they didn’t participate in any activities. Though, Freshman Journey Wenner mentioned how sometimes she’d eat lunch during mock trial.
When asked what their favorite lunch was, there was a variety of different answers. Though the pizza tends to be popular. Nolan and Maddy both answered that pizza was one of the meals they trusted. Though the Buc O Bowl is definitely popular too. Kendall said that was her favorite, but it was hard to get with how many other people went up to get it. Nolan and Kendall also both said how they usually eat the chicken patty. Nolan specifically said, “I just get the spicy chicken sandwich everyday cause I didn’t trust anything else that they have lol.” So, although there are a handful of good meals, it all depends on what you personally like, and there still are some meals that give lunch a bad reputation. I decided to ask one extra question, which was what meal is the worse/would be best if it weren’t on the menu. Journey answered, “I don’t remember anything bad the school's served, but the re-fried beans are pretty awful.”
One thing that all can agree is that lunch is a much needed break, and a nice time to get some social interaction. Which is important to have during a day where you mainly have to stay focused and quiet. Overall, this is how some of the students spend lunch and their opinions on it. So, do you agree with these opinions? Well, whether you do or don’t, make sure to cherish the free time you have in whatever way you like best!
