BHS sails away to Titanic exhibit at the Science Center
The Titanic is a monumental moment in US history that struck many families. Mr. Facemyre, Mrs. Pagnotta, and Mrs. Berzonsky took 23 students to the Carnegie Science Center to learn and see artifacts that were involved with the Titanic. The students were from the American Cultures Freshmen classes.
The students got an hour tour to see a variety of artifacts that were recovered from when the ship sank. They saw food menus and even a pair of socks that were worn by someone on the ship. The tour guide showed the students what it was like to be in the first class, middle class, and the lower class during the time period, and how they would be accommodated on the ship. The students played a game where they had a name of a victim and at the end of the field trip they figured out if their victim survived or not.
