Dresses, Shoes, and Purses... Oh My!
After school on Wednesday, April 3, Mrs. Aranyos and Senior Andi Householder hosted a free prom dress event right in our school's very own Library and Bucco Boutique. Fifteen students came to check out the new and slightly used selection.
A total of over 90 dresses in sizes 0-28 were donated, thanks to churches, students, staff across the district, and alumnae. This collection included various colors, designs, and lengths. Additionally, a large variety of shoes, purses, and accessories were also available.
At the end of the event, 13 dresses and plenty of accessories found their chance to stand out once again. An item was found in one of the purses was a keychain that read: Burrell Senior High School Prom 1989.
While Andi was not available for the start of the actual event due to a dentist appointment, she came back with a numb left side of her face and a surprise: The Valley News Dispatch came to the event to interview and take pictures featuring the event.
With high hopes of continuing this event for future years, the media coverage was a perfect way to spread the success. Helpers Junior Lilly Householder and Sophomore Sophie Walsh offered a hand in helping with the event. Overall, Lilly described the event as "...a fun time full of positive vibes! Everyone was so sweet and supportive!"
If you know anyone donating dresses or you are cleaning through as well, give a thought to the Bucco Boutique. Who knows, maybe you will find your dream dress there next year!
