Riley Anthony named Technologist of the Year
Sophomore Riley Anthony attended the Tech Academy for the last couple months. According to their website, "The Pittsburgh Penguins Tech Academy powered by CGI will provide up to 100 students the opportunity to learn from some of the leaders in sports and business technology." The students get placed into a design team and attend a Draft Day where they learn about the technology of the Penguins. They have 4 weeks to design a proposal for an improvement to the arena.
This year's winning team was Anthony along with his partner from North Catholic. They were named the Technologists of the Year for 2024 which comes with a $10,000 prize which will be split between Burrell and North Catholic.
Their team may have a chance to win additional prizes and to present the idea to a group of technology professionals at the Pittsburgh Penguins Sports and Technology Conference Powered by CGI.

"I felt excited, overjoyed, and nervous throughout the whole experience. I was really happy I could do something like this."
