State was favored as the higher seed, but Michigan’s rebounding proved to be too much for the Rams as Michigan pulled off the upset 75-63. Just 3 hours later in Buffalo, New York, the Iowa Hawkeyes, who a majority of people picked to make a run into the final four, started their tournament run as they were favored by 9.5 points. The Richmond Spiders did not care about what people had to say about Iowa. As they came out and punched the Hawkeyes in the mouth, going blow for blow, point for point the entire first half. As they went into the half up by 1. That’s when all eyes turned to the Spiders, to see if they could pull off the 12 V.S. 5 upset.
