Spring Musical Welcomes Live Orchestra and a Man in the Chair
By Abby Siwak
The spring musical this year, The Drowsy Chaperone, was a delightful comedy within a musical, as the tagline states. The main character played by Senior Zach Jones, The Man in the Chair, takes the audience through one of his favorite musicals, which just happens to be The Drowsy Chaperone. The story revolves around a cast of characters consisting of a bride, groom, the best man, the chaperone, Latin lothario, a wealthy widow, butler, producer, an aspiring leading lady, and two gangsters. Over the course of the two acts, a series of mishaps happen and mayhem was bound to ensue. This is also the first time since the pandemic has started that the musical was able to have a live orchestra, adding to the immersive experience. The production was an overall success and left the audience with a great musical and comedic experience.
