PE Brings Back a Pre-pandemic Favorite
By Staff
On March 4, the National Guard provided the equipment and the BHS gym classes provided the fun. All classes participated in Knockerball. What is Knockerball you may ask? The class is divided into two teams and wear bubble suits. They play soccer (sort of) in which each team tries to score a goal. Sounds easy, right? Not so much... encumbered by the bubbles, students bounced off each other and even the floor in order to try to score the goal with an over-sized soccer ball. The game is fun for those who play, as well as those who watch since the mishaps happen often and are hilarious. The class ends with a "last man standing" round with a battle royale. Mrs. McKallip said they use to play once a year before the pandemic and is glad to have it back since it is so much fun and everyone enjoys a good round of Knockerball. Students agree with Mrs. McKallip on how much fun it was: Junior Ian McCarrell commented, "I got laid out!" Freshman Jillian Barbiaux was excited about getting a shirt as an award for her hard play. Junior Gabe Baker said, "We should have more games like that in gym because it was fun and exhilarating." It seems like even though it has been awhile, Knockerball can come knocking any time at BHS.
