FBLA's State Leadership Conference
By: Reese Pallone
On April 10th, Burrell’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) traveled to Hershey, Pennsylvania to attend the State Leadership Conference. Students started off their day with Duck Donuts and then headed to Hershey Lodge where they listened to lectures, participated in workshops, listened to campaign speeches, and watched other school’s presentations. At the end of the first day, the group went to the Opening Session where they listened to Kenyon Salo’s speech “The Bucket List Life” and learned how to be happy in life and how to achieve goals. That night students went back to the hotel to swim, play Super Smash Bros, and get stuck in the hotel bathroom. The next day they returned to the Lodge for the Awards of Excellence Ceremony. Senior Reese Pallone placed 10th in the state for Database Design and Application. The team of Seniors Kayden Ireland and Rex Rayburg placed 4th in the state for Game Design, and they will be attending nationals in Chicago, Illinois in July. Other highlights include attending a Hershey Bears hockey game and touring and shopping for sweets at Hershey's Chocolate World.
