Come a knockin’ on Friday night ‘cause The Ship is a rockin’

28, 29, 30!!!!!! That was the chant that was coming from the BHS Ship on Friday night, Sept. 17, against East Allegheny when student Senior Travis Bitar repped out 30 on the bench press during halftime. The ship is always rocking on Friday nights at Buccaneer Stadium. Led by Seniors Cole Clark, Vinny Zottola, and Jillian Perry, the student section at some points of the year has been the highlight of all sporting events. Sophomore Chantz Watkins said, “I think it is amazing. I love the energy on Friday nights.” The student section has had flags, loud speakers, beach balls, baby powder, and even a whole bench press throughout the first five games of the season. Junior Caden Canfield said, “Best student section Burrell has ever seen. 🤪” Even though the football season has not gone as planned so far, the student section will not stop showing up especially with the biggest games of the season still on the horizon.
