BSD School Board welcomes student representatives
By Staff
The Burrell School District School Board has chosen four student representatives to join them at their regularly scheduled meetings. This year's representatives are Seniors Damian Barr and Dylan Selinger and Juniors Kaylee Armando and Helaina Hurbulock. One Junior and one Senior will attend each meeting, and the representatives will take turns attending. After attending a meeting Armando commented, "I thought it was very interesting. I was happy to part of such an important meeting. I also enjoyed being part of the conversation, and the School Board seemed interested in what I had to say." Students were chosen by a committee appointed by Superintendent Dr. Wagner. Board President Mrs. Pam Key commented on the decision to appoint student representatives, "We, as a board, felt that it was important to get student input, to see how decisions are made for their district, to become familiar with the “ behind the scenes” process, and to possibly generate an interest in future involvement in their own communities as they become adults."
