Bucs Cross Country team keeps pace
By Staff
Cross Country is so much more than just running. You must avoid obstacles like rocks, trees, and sticks and be able to navigate changing and rough terrain. In addition, the endurance needed to pace the long distance makes Cross Country a very underappreciated difficult and physically demanding sport. This year, the team is led by Senior Captains for the boys, Shane Jablonski, Travis Newell, and Ethan Lucot, and for the girls Isabella Leger and Rhianna Mechesney. They have persevered through many different challenges including some meets being cancelled due to a police incident at Northmoreland Park and COVID challenges. The team is very determined to make WPIALs and have a good time this year. They have a 2-2 record on the season, and they are very confident about this team this year.
