Before Easter break, Mr. Venus organized an Easter egg hunt for all students. The event was sponsored by Pittsburgh Area Community Schools (PACS) and featured a total of 145 eggs, including 120 regular eggs and 25 golden eggs.
Of the 25 golden eggs that were hidden, 15 were intentionally marked as "fake" and contained the message "Better luck next time!" to add an element of surprise. The remaining 10 golden eggs were prize-winning eggs labeled, "congratulations, you won a gift card!"
Students who found a winning golden egg met with Mr. Venus to review their attendance records and discuss their progress before receiving a gift card of their choice, with options including Starbucks, Amazon, McDonald's, Domino's, Taco Bell, etc.
Nine of the ten prize-winning golden eggs were found. The winners included Sophomore Ava Shumaker, Junior Patrick Nee, Senior Logan Abraham, Senior Cole Miller, Junior Jaren Martin, Junior Paul Wyble, Junior Logan Shank, Junior Kassidy Sutton, and Junior Connor O'Sullivan.
The Easter egg hunt was a fun and engaging way to celebrate the upcoming break while also encouraging students to stay motivated and maintain good attendance. With excitement building as each egg was discovered, the event brought a sense of community and friendly competition to the school. Thanks to Mr. Venus and the support of PACS, the hunt was a memorable experience that left students looking forwar to future events like this event.
