This year, like past years, many seniors painted ceiling tiles. Some seniors paint them as an art class final for their favorite teacher or even just for fun. In the band and choir’s case, a ceiling tile is painted each year by a senior and the two seniors carrying the tradition this year were Danika Krajci inspired by this year’s marching band show “The Tormented Dreams of Poe” and Kiera McGarvey for the choir. Kiera and Taylor Burford also made one for their favorite teacher, Shaffe dog, with a collab from Danika. Saleena Hickey created one for Mr. Pounds after breaking his lava lamp as a tribute to the fallen lamp. London Kremer says she wants to “leave behind a memory here” as something to remember her by. On her ceiling tile, she painted all of her favorite things. Rae Seybert painted a tile just to commemorate her last year at Burrell, and on it, she included her signature and plenty of summer vibes to last her until the end of the school year. Zaynah Smith painted multiple album covers onto her tile, a cover for each square. These were all albums that hold songs that she really enjoys or are sentimental to her. And finally, Rita Manning painted hers simply because fish, water, and flowers are her favorite thing to paint.
