The Day of Pranks and Laughter: The History
Some believe the tradition is linked to ancient Roman and European festivals that celebrated deception, disguise, and playfulness. The Roman festival Hilaria and the Feast of Fools in medieval Europe both encouraged laughter, trickery, and role-reversals.
April 1st has given us some of the most legendary pranks of all time. Here are a few that fooled thousands, even millions, of people:
Burger King ran an ad in USA Today announcing a "Left-Handed Whopper" specially designed for left-handed customers. People flocked to restaurants asking for it, not realizing that burgers are already symmetrical!
Google is known for its elaborate April Fools' pranks, such as Google Nose, which claimed to let users search for smells, and Google Translate for Animals, which supposedly allowed humans to talk to pets.
A French newspaper tricked readers into believing that the Eiffel Tower was being dismantled and moved to Disneyland Paris. The outrage was real, until people realized the date!
Pranks To Pull This April 1st!!
Blue Milk Surprise

Frozen Drink Trick
Freeze a glass of juice or soda overnight with a straw in it. Serve it and watch as they try (and fail) to take a sip!
Cracked Screen Wallpaper
Set their phone’s wallpaper to an image of a cracked screen and wait for the panic to set in.
Short-Sheet the Bed
Fold the bottom half of their bedsheets so they can't stretch their legs out. It’ll leave them wondering why they can’t get comfortable!
Gummy Worm Ice Cubes
Freeze gummy worms inside ice cubes and serve them in a drink. Wait for the moment they notice!
