This year, the BHS choir held their annual Snow Day Cabaret on Thursday, February 27. They had 20 acts lined up for the night, some were solos, some were duets, some accompanied themselves, and some had the choir director, Mrs. Williams accompany them on piano. Hot chocolate, music, and baked desserts were supplied by the students. This event is held for the enjoyment of the community and to raise money for the annual essay scholarship contest. This year the choir was able to raise over 700 dollars for a lucky and deserving senior who has the winning essay. Performers this year were Mylee Jack, Jennelle Brandt, Aubrey Turk, Quinne Smith, Lily Sassani, Bri Robinson, Megan Braczykowski, Kiera McGarvey, Hunter Yockey, Quinne Smith, Abby Weitzel, Bash Rivera, Cloe Hooks, Mikayla Gorsuch, Ellie Jarret, Ellianna and Spiro Kolouris, and Cai Yankel. Who all did either a solo, duet, or both.
Some students who chose not to sing, helped support the event by setting up and/or taking down all of the tables, equipment, and desserts. It's a big job, so even some of the performers lent their hands and voices to tackle the job. Each member of the choir is required to donate at least one dozen baked goods, whether it's cookies, brownies, cupcakes, or pre-cut slices of cake.
