On Friday, March 14 (3.14), we celebrated Pi Day in AR with a successful fundraiser, selling a variety of pies and raising an impressive $261! The first pie to sell out was peach, proving to be a crowd favorite. Mrs. Stell even made her own homemade chocolate peanut butter pie, which was a very big hit. Her biggest takeaway from Pi Day was "celebrating math every day whenever you can find it." The event was a sweet success, bringing together a love for math and delicious treats.
Funds raised will go toward the bus for the Geometry mini-golf field trip in the spring.
In addition to the fundraiser, we also hosted the Battles of Pi through a school wide survey. Burrell High School students voted for their favorite flavors. In Round 1, Oreo took an early lead, and in the second and final round, Oreo triumphed once again, claiming the ultimate victory. The excitement around the competition showed just how passionate everyone is about their favorite pies. Overall, Pi Day was an excellent celebration, blending both learning and fun into one.
