Dress to Impress
"Dress to Impress" was an exciting activity where the classes competed against each other to dress themselves in the craziest outfit they could find. The teams had a limited time to make the silliest outfit they could think up. As the music played, each team took turns strutting down the runway showcasing their outfits in a mini fashion show. Crowd applause determined a clear winner - the Juniors!

Band, Cheerleaders, and Fall Sports Recognition
Band
The Marching Band is starting their season off strong with a high score from their first two competitions. Their show this year is "Tormented Dreams of Poe" featuring the songs "Sweet Dreams," "Chandelier," "Blackbird," and "Total Eclipse of the Heart." They have two more competitions in October where they hope to bring home some trophies to Puckety Church Road. Even with those trophies, the highlight of each season is playing "Tequila" with the Student Section and cheering for the Bucs.

Golf
Although the team wasn’t perfect they still managed to win some matches and do their very best. A lot of players graduated last year, but the current players got better and made up for the loss. The season ended with a record of 7-7.
Captains: Tucker Bitar & Logan Griffith
Girl's Tennis
The Girl's Tennis team has had a prosperous season so far. They have competed in the Section Singles and Section Doubles and have a week left of matches this year. Ava Radvansky has done a great job leading the team as First Singles, as well as Jenna Morrison for Second Singles. Abby Ruffini, Jules Fisher, Ava Nee, Olivia Carney, and Sarah Waldsmith have also taken on important roles to help the team win some matches.
Captains: Seniors
Boys/Girls Cross Country
The Cross Country Team consists of seven runners: Kelsey Haas, Nina Shank-Koster, Lily Liotta, Kira Legters, Andrew Beveridge, Cam Perry, and Trent Sullivan. The captain of the Cross Country Team is Kelsey Haas. The team is excited to run at WPIALs and finish with great times to end the season on a good note. As Coach Legters would say, “It’s a great day to run fast!”
Captains: Kelsey Haas
Boys' Soccer
While the team is not as strong as last year, they are doing exceptionally for losing 7 starters and getting moved up into 2A. They are sitting at 5-3 in the section and are fighting for a playoff spot. They are excited to continue to play as well as possible and go after the spot.
Captains: Will Doutt, Billy Kowalkowski, Calio Zanella, & Luke Postupack
Girls' Soccer
The Lady Bucs are off to a great start in their season with big wins against teams like South Park and Shady Side. They just recently won a huge game to determine their place in the section Monday Night against North Catholic. They’re looking for a big comeback win against Freeport in pursuit of a Section title. With a lot of talent and hard work the Lady Bucs, coached by Mr. Frank "The Tank" Nesko, hope to make a far playoff run.
Captains: Seniors
Girls' Volleyball
The Burrell Bucs Girls Volleyball team has had a fantastic start to the season, currently holding the top spot in our section following a recent major three-set victory against Deer Lakes. With strong teamwork and determination, they are excited to see what the rest of the season has in store, and the Lady Bucs aim to maintain momentum and keep the wins coming heading into playoffs in the next months. Leading the Bucs this year are captains, Ella Anderson and Pyper Ferres. The energy is high, and they are eager to build on our success.

Football
The Burrell Buccaneers Football Team has had their share of ups and down this season. The team returns only 3 seniors starting on both sides of the ball, making them by far the youngest team in the Allegheny 7 Conference. Regardless, every game they have showed their willingness to compete with some of the best teams in the entire WPIAL, such as a close 24-7 loss to #3 ranked Avonworth. With 5 games left in the season, the Bucs look to get back on track and make some noise in conference play to hopefully get a playoff bid.
