The American Red Cross Blood Drive that benefits patients in need was hosted on Wednesday, April 2nd from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the gymnasium. Many students signed up to donate blood, and other students volunteered to facilitate the blood drive. Students that gave blood were given free doughnuts, pizza, snacks, and drinks for participating. Student volunteers ran the snack table, walked donors to and from their cots, and offered emotional support for students giving blood. Teachers and students alike donated their blood and volunteered for the event.
In this second year of the drive, 75 students and staff signed up to donate blood and around 60 were able to donate. This blood drive is an SEL project sponsored by the first period classes of Mrs. Anthony, Mr. Rossi, & Mr. Facemyre.
