There is an outbreak of monkeypox among queer and trans communities in New York City. There are vaccines that offer protection, but because they are in limited supply, it is not possible to vaccinate everyone. We don’t have enough information to use our limited vaccine supplies efficiently. To do that, we need to know how queer and trans communities are connected in New York City.
Take five minutes to anonymously answer this community-led survey, then send it to your friends and hookups. It gives you the information you need to protect yourself and queer and trans communities from monkeypox. Your answers will also help distribute a limited supply of vaccines. What is the MPX NYC Survey?
The overall goal of MPX NYC survey is to rapidly generate actionable, epidemiologic information about monkeypox transmission among gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) in New York City.
In short, the survey aims to:
Characterize the overall structure of social and sexual networks among GBMSM in New York City.
Identify the characteristics of individuals who are central in the social and sexual networks of GBMSM in New York City.
Assess the prevalence of self-reported symptoms of monkeypox among GBMSM in New York City.
Assess relationships between monkeypox symptoms and HIV clinical cascade outcomes.
MPX NYC is campaign of RESPND-MI: Rapid Epidemiologic Study of Prevalence, Networks, and Demographics of Monkeypox Infection.
