Each summer Burke County Public Schools offers Driver’s Education to a group of incoming 9th graders. Eligibility for these summer classes is based on age and extracurricular involvement during the fall semester. In order to be eligible a student must be at least 15 years old by January 1st, 2019. The student must also be involved in fall after-school activities (i.e. marching band, football, girl’s tennis, girl’s golf, men’s soccer, cross country, cheerleading, etc.) which prevents them from taking DE after school.

The class times are 8:00 am until 3:30 pm each day.

Information sheets will be taken to all middle schools during the first week of May.

Parents are asked to complete the form and return it to the school office.

Forms are DUE by Friday, May 11th.

You will be contacted if your child is chosen to take driver’s ed during the summer.
