This is my 26th year in education! I taught (mostly) ELAR for 17 years. I have served as a reading specialist and been an instructional coach. During that time I've taught every grade level from K-12!
As an assistant principal, I believe that leadership begins with relationships. Every student and every staff member deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. I strive to contribute to our school culture built on trust, respect, and high expectations—where both adults and students are encouraged to grow, take risks, and thrive.
My approach to leadership is rooted in coaching. I do not impose one-size-fits-all solutions, but work to I listen intently, ask thought-provoking questions, and work with teachers and staff as they reflect on their practice, celebrate their strengths, and set meaningful goals. I believe that when teachers feel supported and empowered, their effectiveness increases—and so does student success.
With students, I lead with connection before correction. I believe discipline is most effective when it’s restorative and when students know I’m invested in who they are, not just what they did. Every interaction is an opportunity to teach, mentor, and build character.
I also believe that parents are essential partners in student success. I work to build strong relationships with families through consistent communication, empathy, and collaboration. Whether celebrating growth or working through challenges, I aim to keep parents informed, involved, and respected as part of the team.
I work to model integrity, consistency, and calm under pressure. I recognize that my role includes being a steady presence—celebrating wins, navigating challenges, and always keeping students at the center of decision-making.
Ultimately, my goal is to build a school environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and inspired to learn—every day.
