Burkburnett Middle School Art!
Greetings!
I teach art at Burkburnett Middle School. I earned my degree from Midwestern State University, where I majored in art with a focus on painting and obtained a BFA-TC in 2022.
I enjoy anime and anything adorable! Lately, I've been obsessed with Sanrio, especially Keroppi. In my free time, when I'm not caring for my two adorable dogs, I enjoy relaxing by listening to audiobooks.
Let's have a wonderful time creating art together!🎨 ✨
My educational philosophy is that every child, regardless of their background, deserves an equal opportunity to learn and thrive in the classroom. As an educator, my aim is to support each student individually, helping them to connect with their true selves and guiding them on their path to self-discovery in a supportive and motivating manner. I will achieve this by embracing each student for who they are, believing that they all have the right to learn in a safe and inclusive environment.
Given my background as a painter, students will find themselves fully immersed in an art class with an emphasis on painting and drawing. Additionally, they can expect to explore a diverse variety of art materials throughout the semester as well!
The class will prioritize grasping and utilizing the fundamental elements of art, such as line, shape, color, texture, form, space, and value. Separately, upper-level art classes will focus on learning the principles of design. Therefore, students will be encouraged to express themselves through art using appropriate vocabulary, and these aspects will shape the semester!
The grades given to students will primarily reflect the commitment they have shown in their artistic creations as well as the progress they have made in honing their artistic abilities.
