About Profe B
¡Bienvenido y mucho gusto!
My name is Ms. Buckner, but I go by Profe. I will be teaching Spanish I and II this year at North Bullitt High School. I went to DePauw University for undergrad where I received a BA in Spanish with minors in Anthropology and Education Studies. There I did research on Indigenous women fighting against mining corporations in the Andes, Ecuadorian identity with the motto "Ama la vida", and the effects of National Parks on Native American reservations. My MAT is through the University of Louisville. This is my third year at North Bullitt.
My Spanish journey began in high school with an after school job at Chick-Fil-A. After high school, I was able to travel outside of the country to apply the knowledge I had. I have traveled to Peru, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua and Ecuador. I was in Ecuador for half a year where I lived with a host family, studied at the local university, learned about social justice issues, worked at a local elementary school and traveled around the country.
I have two of the cutest cats in the entire world, Larry and Luna. I love to hike and camp, and I have worked at Grand Teton National Park as well as Custer State Park.
