Principal's Message:

I hope you all are out and about enjoying this wonderful weather today and your first day of Summer Vacation! I want to thank each and every one of you for helping to make this a successful year, not only for our students and our staff, but for myself as the first year to serve as your principal.

It has been a whirlwind year and although we have hit a few bumps along the way I feel that our entire community has grown even stronger! I look forward to creating many more opportunities to demonstrate our commitment to educating the whole child and value all of your input and feedback as I continue to grow as your leader.

I wish for you all to have a safe and happy summer and make many lasting memories.

We look forward to seeing everyone back here on Wednesday, August 7th!

Summer Reading Photos - Mrs. Egan wants to add new posters in the library of our students reading across America and other neat places this summer. Please send reading photos to Summer reading photos will be shared on PGE's facebook page, but not all will be made into posters.

Talent Show - We had a very entertaining evening with 45 performances showcasing the talents of 86 students. Click here to view video clips of each performance. Thank you to all of our students, parents and staff for a great show! We raised $845.60 to be used for our student celebration programs and guest artists.

Summer Reading Challenge - We have partnered with the Bullitt County Public Library and will be competing against Mt. Washington Elementary school to see how many reading logs our students can complete. You can pick up a reading log at any Bullitt County Public library, or register to complete logs online through Beanstack. Beginning Monday, June 10 there will be PGE teachers from 10-11AM at the Mt. Washington Public Library to read with your children. When you join Beanstack and participate in the Kids' SummerQuest Challenge, you will be rewarded with over 10 coupons to attractions in the state of Kentucky. These coupons offer free admission or reduced price admission. See each coupon for details and restrictions. Your coupon pack is available for pick up at any BCPL location STARTING MAY 18th! We can provide 1 coupon pack per registered child. The library will also be hosting activities during this time. Please join us and help bring home the WIN!

Box Tops!! - You may have noticed in your child's folder this week a letter from Box tops about some upcoming changes to their program. Soon, they will be launching the Box Tops app where you will no longer have to clip Box Tops off your boxes, but rather scan them along with your receipt (We will continue to collect the old fashion way until this change is made official). It is my understanding at this point when you download the app you will be asked to put in the school you are affiliated with so we can still receive credit. I am currently not sure how this will impact the rewards we give students this upcoming school year, but I will be looking into this over the summer and touch base once school starts. As for now, keep clipping and sending in the Box Tops as we have a summer challenge taking place.

Submit to Mrs. Franklin on or before August 15!!

  • 25 Box Tops = Ice Cream
  • 50 Box Tops = Ice Cream & Extra Recess

Please try to tape or glue your Box Tops to the forms I sent home this week as it makes it super easy for our 5th grade students to manage. If you don't have a form, feel free to send in a baggie labeled with your child's name and classroom teacher.

Student Shout Out - Integrity

Sabin and Mollee each showed integrity this year. On separate occasions they found money in the library and on the playground. Instead of keeping it for themselves, they turned it in to the teacher and it was returned to the proper owner. At our final SPLASH celebration, they were each given a crisp twenty dollar bill! We are so proud of them for having such good character!

Shout Out - Perfect Attendance

It's not easy to have perfect attendance, but these students were here every single day this year! They each designed their own Dolphin ceiling tile and were recognized at our SPLASH celebration. Ms. Buschor joins them with perfect attendance. Way to go!
