Jesse Bacon joined the Bullitt County Public Schools family in July 2018. Mr. Bacon is a 2004 graduate of Morehead State University and has more than fifteen years of experience in public education. He most recently served as principal for one of Kentucky’s highest performing schools, Simons Middle School in Fleming County. He led the school as Principal from 2013-2018. Before taking over as principal at SMS, Mr. Bacon served as a high school Associate Principal and Interim Principal in Fleming and Montgomery Counties. Prior to his leadership roles, Superintendent Bacon worked in the classroom as a Social Studies teacher at Oldham County High School in Buckner, Kentucky and Fleming County High School in Flemingsburg, Kentucky where he was also a coach.
Mr. Bacon is an active member in many professional and community organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA), and belongs to the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents (KASS), American Association of School Administrators (AASA), and the National Association of School Superintendents (NASS).
Mr. Bacon has participated in numerous leadership programs, including the Leadership Institute for School Principals through the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), the National Institute for School Leaders (NISL) Executive Development Program, as well as the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) Aspiring Superintendents Academy. He has also presented at numerous conferences on school and district leadership and is an active participant on Advanc-ED school and district accreditation teams.
