About These Competency Guides

The BCPS Graduate Profile competency guides break down each skill area across four grade bands—K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12—making it easier for teachers to see how student growth develops over time. Each guide includes clear developmental look-fors, prompts to help students reflect on their learning, teaching tips to embed skills across subjects, and ideas for gathering meaningful evidence.
