  Sta. Monica National High School is an institution where the holistic development including the moral and character of its learners are honed and shaped based on the existing standards and principles. Character development and academic progress of learners are important factors that build their personality and human relation. The school envisions them as nation builders therefore, a meaningful learning experience and strong partnership with the community and stakeholders is values in order to make this happen.

  It is the mission of the school to provide our valued learners with an environment where they feel safe, equal and motivated. This environment can only be achieved through well-trained teachers who are equipped with the necessary skills not only in teaching academic subjects but also in counseling and good human relations. Administrators and staff are engaged in providing efficient services to sustain the needs of the school.

  The community partakes in the academic and social responsibilities in order to build up harmonized and sustainable partnership with the school.

  The school and the community, as cradle of wisdom and values, work together to nourish the integral values of maka-Diyos, makakalikasan, makabansa and maka-tao. These are formative values that will help learners to develop a character that is culture-based, morally accepted and humanitarian in nature.

  With these, MONICANS will certainly emerge as productive citizens of our society, trained according to the standards of the Department of Education and guided by the principle of the Core Values.

OUR MANDATE

The Department of Education was established through the Education Decree of 1863 as the Superior Commission of Primary Instruction under a Chairman. The Education agency underwent many reorganization efforts in the 20th century in order to better define its purpose vis a vis the changing administrations and charters. The present day Department of Education was eventually mandated through Republic Act 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education act of 2001 which establishes the mandate of this agency.

The Department of Education (DepEd) formulates, implements, and coordinates policies, plans, programs and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. It supervises all elementary and secondary education institutions, including alternative learning systems, both public and private; and provides for the establishment and maintenance of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of basic education relevant to the goals of national development.
