In the university’s aim to develop its students to become future-ready and, in the process, remain relevant to the society, the university, through its CITL, ensures that the faculty integrate technology and use latest tools in education. With this in mind, the CITL, under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, initiated a write-shop among the deans and chairpersons of the colleges/departments to come up with a compendium of teaching strategies that address the need of the students in the context of the present and of the future demands. The write-shop took place on August 8, 2024 at the CON’s amphitheater.
The write-shop tasked the writers/contributors to specify the teaching strategy that they innovatived, and also asked them to specify technology tools/AI tools that they can use with the strategy to carry out a certain lesson. These tasks ensured that the lessons incorporate technology/AI tools, which make students be familiar with and use. These can develop students’ technology-use skills in their academic tasks. At the same time, it also ensures that the faculty are able to maximize the use of AI to enhance their teaching.
A set of innovative teaching strategies as a product of the write-shop is presented as an example here. These are existing teaching strategies, and are innovated by the contributors/writers, including a set of ICT resources/AI tools to be used with the strategies. These are then packaged to make up the Compendium of Innovative Teaching Strategies for Bukidnon State University.
