Calling all sixth through eighth grade girls who want to be a Girl Scout Cadette! Buckley Country Day School's Girl Scout Troop 1052 has a limited number of openings for new members. The Girl Scouts meet every other Friday at Buckley with Buckley moms and troop leaders, Ms. Shalini Mimani (mom of Priya Kissane, class of 2028) and Ms. Ayanna Spurlock-Shackleton (mom of Ciana Spurlock-Shackleton, class of 2027) to work on a variety of projects emphasizing leadership and service to the Buckley community. We meet at 4 pm to accommodate our 7th and 8th graders, but 6th graders are welcome to go to study hall (for free) until we meet. Outside of school, the Girl Scouts go on camping trips, participate in service projects, learn new skills, and build bonds with one another. Costs include dues to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County ($40), the cost for the uniform (vest, pins, and patches) (~$50), and occasional costs for individual activities. We will accept new members on a first come-first served basis.
