Leidys Gutiérrez-Martínez is a doctoral student in the Epidemiology Department at the Boston University School of Public Health. She trained as a primary care physician (MD) at Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and earned a Master of Science with an emphasis on Physical Activity Epidemiology from Iowa State University (Ames, IA). Recently, she completed a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, funded by the American Heart Association, where she worked on projects focused on brain care. She has experience in experimental and observational epidemiological studies among clinical and nonclinical populations from multicultural backgrounds, with a focus on lifestyle medicine and the prevention of noncommunicable diseases. Outside of work, Leidys enjoys outdoor sports, singing, dancing, and traveling.
