Night Lab will not be held today - Tuesday, April 29th (Night Lab 2)!
This page will be updated as early as 6:30PM on days night labs may be held (Tuesdays & Thursdays). Night lab depends on cloud coverage and temperature with wind chill, so it is impossible to call it earlier than that. The final decision for night lab will be posted by 7:30pm at the latest.
What should I bring?
Print out and bring the lab manual, a star chart and a writing utensil! Using a phone, tablet, or laptop will be difficult and will ruin your night vision, making the lab harder to complete.
Dress warmly, it can get chilly on the roof at night!
Where do I go?
On the fifth floor of CAS, there is a door to a stairway to the left of CAS520. Proceed up the stairs, past the sixth floor and wait until the teaching fellows open the door at 8:30PM. Do not be late, as the door will be shut and locked behind the last people to enter!
How do I get credit?
Be sure to sign the sign-in sheet when entering the lab space and get your lab initialed/stamped before leaving. Your teaching fellow will tell you how the assignment should be submitted.
How do I get extra credit?
Night labs are held for our 100-level courses, meaning that policies vary from professor to professor. Check with your teaching fellow for details about getting extra credit, if it is being offered for your course.
