The solution presented below involves a worker vacuuming the leaves to alleviate the blockage. The vacuum can be battery powered to be able to operate in this environment, and feature an air filter between the pump mechanism and storage chamber which is filtered, such that leaves do not enter the pump itself and damage the mechanism. While this solution would not prevent future blockages, it is a cheap and easy temporary solution.
