Code and Circuit Progress
Describe your Code and Circuits up to this point. What are the main objectives of for code, what language and microcontroller are you using?
Our group used the arduino uno microcontroller to create our tripwire with the use of the C-arduino language. Our main objective in the code was to basically allow the photoresistor to be read with the value being 200 so if the reading is below that value and the push button is read as being high then the code will begin. There is a laser pointing at the photoresistor and the alarm will be stable due to the value of the photoresistor being above 200 and once someone blocks the laser the value will go below 200 making the tripwire go off.
What have been some of the issues or challenges that you have had to overcome in terms of coding/ circuitry?
The main difficulty that we had to go through during the project was finding a proper threshold value for the photoresistor to be able to program the tripwire. This is because while creating the project we had to move our circuit to various rooms with different light intensities so finding the right value was a difficulty for us.
Update on your groups dynamic. Are you all working well together and doing your own part? What role do each of the members have in the group? (answer individually)
We are all working together to finish the project but it is not that efficient however we are doing our own parts for the specific work to be split and fair for all of us in the project. In our group I am doing the CAD, Mohammed is involved in mostly the coding aspect, Tazwar and Koby get involved with the actual research and building of the circuit.
What are the sensors, motors, or other components are planning on using to build you project? Describe quantity and where the parts will be acquired.
In the project we are using the photoresistor to read the values of the laser. We will be using the push button to start the actual program for it to start working and after the alarm turns off the result is the buzzer letting out a loud sound as an alarm and an LED lighting up. All of these parts were acquired from the mechatronics room.

Describe the process of machining and assembling your parts to create your project.
For our project, we will be assembling our base to be able to hold the circuit together in a precise location for the tripwire to be set. In the base, we will be having a part that holds the laser as well as the sensor and also create a path for the laser to travel through to hit the photosensor for the laser value to be read.
What are the materials and machining operations that you are you using to build you project?
We will be using the Inventor software to create two holders: one that would have the laser and one that would have the photo resitor . At first, we tried using the 3D printer to print out our model. However, we were experiencing issues (the model probably never got printed and the printer was always empty the next day). Therefore, we decided to cut out individual pieces with the laser cutter by using RDWorks. Then, we assembled the pieces with wood glue and aligned the laser and the photo resistor.
